So term has finished, my first year at university over. I thought I would just post a few of the (belated) photos from the summer ball because everyone looked lovely and it was such a nice day.
The night was amazing with the vast majority of students at the university attending. Everyone made such an effort with their outfits and got dressed up. The event was held at the York Racecourse and there were fairground rides (not sure how sensible that is with drunk students?), professional photos, a casino and, of course, music.
I decided that as I wasn’t sure how dressy this event is to go for a blue dress from H&M. It is long and has a chiffon over layer with a shorter underskirt so the legs can be seen. I also love the slits up the sides. The back is really beautiful too and is what attracted me to the dress in the first place. The dress can be seen from the back in one of my previous looks; “Save the Date”, which can be seen on my LookBook if you click here.
The shoes are just a plain black wedge with studding detail on the heel. This gave a little interest without messing with the interest of the dress. They are also super comfy to wear all night long – despite being nearly 6 inches high! My hair has once again changed colour and I decided to put it in a half-up-half-down style. I simply backcombed the top section of my hair from around the top of my ears upwards. I then smoothed it down and pulled it back into one place where it was secured with grips.
I wore really simple accessories and had really simple makeup on too. Overall we had an amazing night and enjoyed it so much. Looking forward to next year and hoping to have an amazing summer too!
